This is your chance to join our team - help us to understand today's transportation needs and develop plans that create livable communities!We are currently seeking a Transportation Planner based out of our office in Wilmington, Delaware. Assignments may include working on a variety of complex transportation and community design projects such as transportation and land use studies, multimodal corridor studies, pedestrian and bike planning, freight plans, and transit studies. Because our projects are for public-sector agencies, a strong commitment to meaningfully involving stakeholders and equitable public engagement strategies is essential.Responsibilities:Support transportation and community design planning projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic region, conduct public outreach and engagement, support ongoing and new projects using GIS and data analytics, help pursue planning projects throughout the region.Support the development of transportation plans, policies, and recommendations to enhance mobility and accessibility.Assist in organizing and facilitating public meetings, workshops, and stakeholder engagement events (occasional work related to engagement outside of regular business hours)Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and external stakeholders to address complex transportation and land use challenges.Assist in conducting transportation studies, including traffic analysis, transit planning, and multimodal transportation assessments.Collect and analyze transportation data using GIS and other tools.Contribute to the preparation of reports, presentations, and visualizations to communicate project findings and recommendations.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in planning or a related disciplineTransportation experience preferredInterested in working towards AICP certification as soon as minimum required years of professional planning experience are met0-3 years of experience in multimodal transportation and land use planning; a graduate degree may be substituted for a portion of this experienceExperience and interest in public and stakeholder outreachExcellent writing and oral communications skillsDesirable qualifications:Background in public health, economic development, or transitExperience working with public agencies in Delaware or MarylandExperience with GIS software and dataAnalytical skillsVirtual and in-person presentation skillsDesign and graphical communication experienceSpanish language skillsNational Charrette Institute or similar certificationBenefits:WRA recognizes that employees play an important role in its success.
