Responsibilities Our  UT Health Henderson  hospital is seeking an experienced  Certified Surgical Tech, PRN .   We are looking for your experience, knowledge and patient care skills in our   Main OR/ Surgery  where you will be responsible for:   What You Will Be Doing: Assist the RN in identifying needs relative to individual patient assessment and age-specific requirements from infants to geriatrics Perform a variety of routine/complex procedures with confidence and competence Utilize equipment, instruments and supplies in accordance with standard operating procedures to facilitate expected outcome for patients Participate in CQI by collecting and monitoring data for performance improvement to produce quality and excellent patient outcome Provide good customer service by utilizing good communication skills and technical knowledge to ensure objectives are maintained Maintain skills and knowledge through training and continuing education to provide expected standards of care Act as a resource and role model for new staff and students Adhere to departmental policies and procedures while carrying out duties and responsibilities as identified Qualifications Education: High School diploma or equivalent Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program Experience: Customer friendly Must be in good health and able to physically complete a fitness assessment. Strong verbal and written communication skills Active listening, hearing and visual skills Must use written and/or verbal sources of information Good problem solving skills Basic personal computer skills and comfort with Microsoft Windows operating system; database and word processing skills required Strong time management skills Ability to think strategically and act tactically Ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time Ability to embrace the client relationship to guide decisions and actions Demonstrates good team work Certification and Licensure: Current certification with one of the following: the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting, the National Center for Competency Testing, or another surgical technologist certification program approved by the Texas Department of State Health Services CPR certified   Compliance Requirements Comply with regulatory requirements, guidelines, and policies BEHAVIORAL STANDARDS: Service Patient Centered Customer Service: Genuinely care about people. Ability to lift/carry 50lbs.
