Job Description Who You'll Work With As an Independent Real Estate Agent, you will be working with an array of different people, ranging from prospective home buyers and sellers to brokers, attorneys, and loan officers. You will also be interacting with other real estate agents and negotiating with them on behalf of your clients. Additionally, you will be striving to close as many transactions as possible, as this is how you will earn the most income. You may also have some personal goals, such as building a strong client base or becoming an area expert in your local real estate market. Responsibilities You'll Have As an Independent Real Estate Agent, you will have a wide range of responsibilities, including: Helping clients prepare their home to be placed on the market. Assisting clients in the home search process by taking them to home showings and open houses. Mediating during sales and purchasing negotiations. Becoming an expert in your local real estate market. Crafting unique marketing materials to advertise your real estate services. Advising your clients on how to stage and sell their home quickly and profitably. Core Competencies You'll Need Successful Independent Real Estate Agents possess a variety of core competencies, including: Excellent customer service skills. Strong communication and negotiation skills. The ability to think on your feet and problem solve. A keen understanding of local real estate market trends. Knowledge of real estate regulations and industry best practices. Proficiency in using relevant real estate software and technology.
