PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION Provide a leadership role in the supervision of operational chemistry programs. Provide coaching and mentoring for all operational activities. Maintain Chemistry programs including all performance and regulatory aspects of the program. PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIESSupervise Chemists and technicians. This includes coaching and mentoring, reinforcing the fundamentals, scheduling, and maintaining working files.Lead and provide support for Chemistry related projects.Participate and support the training program.Lead and provide an interface role with other departments which will include input on system performance and schedule reviews.Manage and maintain the Chemistry budget for the plant systems.Participate in EP rotation. Subject to call out as required in support of station requirements.Advocate for station support of chemistry equipment to provide good material conditionLead programs which maintains reliable lab instrumentationRepresent chemistry manager at site leadership meetingsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSMinimum: Assessment Center Qualification. Chemistry technician qualification or Navy ELT with 5 years nuclear plant experience Or 4 year technical degree and 5 years of non-plant experience Or8 years nuclear plant experience PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSSpecific training/education course in radiochemistry (alpha/beta/gamma analysis)2 years of experience with gamma spectroscopy, to include 3 months of on-site experience with the site-specific Gamma Spectroscopy Instrumentation and Isotopic Reference Library.Chemistry or Chem Eng DegreeSupervisory experienceEnvironmental experienceFinancial experience
