Careers with our clients through FORVIS | Executive SearchController - High Point / Thomasville areaWe have partnered with a multistate equipment dealer to hire an experienced Controller who will work closely with CFO to oversee the team and execute the corporate accounting function for this national organization. He or she will maintain the general ledger, process and record business transactions and execute month-end close. The design and implementation of efficient and effective accounting and finance processes and procedures is key, as is the ability to develop and maintain routine and ad hoc financial reports for presentation to executive leadership. This is an organization that continues to grow both organically and through acquisitions efforts, and the opportunity for ongoing career growth is exponential. Responsibilities Manage a small team including an Accounting Supervisor, Staff Accountant and an Accounts Payable teamPreparation of general ledger entries, recording company transactions and managing balance sheet and account reconciliationManage and execute the full month-end close process and monthly financial reporting activities, including financial statements and business review analysis for presentation to senior managementGather the information and perform data analysis to execute forecasting and budgeting activitiesManage leases and fixed assets, including depreciation schedulesPartner with the CFO to manage the annual budget processResponsibilities include administering payroll review with ability to step in when needed as payroll backupAssist with development and implementation of the internal audit function and support both internal and external audit prep work and management of auditAbility to travel up to 25% to multistate locations as neededQualificationsIntermediate understanding and application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)Applicable knowledge of revenue recognition principles, fixed asset rules, and matching conceptsComprehensive working knowledge of MS Office Suites including advanced knowledge of Excel (V-Lookup, PivotTables)Active CPA license, or licensure in progress with expected completionRequirementsBachelor or Master's degree in Accounting or FinanceCPA license or actively in the process of completing the CPA exam3 - 7 years of experience in public or corporate accounting (or audit)Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record is required
