The VP Aggregates Operations role is based in Irving, TX and reports to the Region President, Southwest Region. The VP Aggregates Operations is a key member of the Southwest Region's executive team with responsibility for providing leadership in safety and operations to the Heidelberg Materials aggregates operations in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana. The VP Aggregates Operations will execute the Company's strategic plan to promote growth of revenue, profitability, personnel and operational footprint. The VP Aggregates Operations will oversee the operations to ensure safe production, reliability, efficiency, quality, service, and cost-effective management of resources. What you'll get to do Work to enact the strategic plan to promote a best-in-class and professionalized approach to safety, sustainability, digitalization, people development, profitability, and growth as an organization. Work in close cooperation with commercial and logistics departments as well as other departments to reach annual targets and long-term ambitions. Oversee plant operations and heavy mobile equipment to ensure production efficiency, quality, service, and cost-effective management of resources. Plan, develop, and execute tactical and strategic initiatives to promote consistent and sustainable results in areas of production, mine planning, maintenance, KPIs, and other operational aspects. Proactive ideas, review and execution of short and long term capital planning projects. Identify acquisition and merger opportunities and provide project management of internal and external resources to grow our organization's footprint. Implement and help to improve company operational procedures, policies, and standards. Review activity reports and financial statements to determine progress and status in attaining objectives and revise objectives and plans in accordance with current conditions. Evaluate performance of management staff for compliance with established policies and objectives. Coach and challenge staff to develop the "bench strength" of future organizational leaders. Participate in mentoring of new management employees. Represent the company at state and local level legislative sessions, committee meetings, and other related functions. Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations/permits and Group guidelines in area of responsibility. Other duties as assigned Essential Experience and Skills Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or relevant discipline Minimum 10 years of related industry experience, with progressive experience in management roles In-depth knowledge of the financial aspects of a business unit including P&L statements, budgets, and impact of volume, price and cost Extensive knowledge of the Aggregates business, customers, competitors, products, and manufacturing processes Multi-site management experience Strong project management skills Experience with digitalization and sustainability practices within the construction materials industry Strong track record of accomplishments within the areas of safety & health, employee development, change management, and team leadership Proficient with Microsoft Office Ability to travel Preferred Experience and Skills MBA or additional post graduate education, training, or certifications Well networked within the industry including trade associations Experience across multiple product lines: aggregates, hot-mix asphalt, ready mix concrete, and road construction Work Environment Role operates primarily a professional office environment but requires conducting business at manufacturing locations and job sites where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, humidity, and elevated noise levels.
