Route Sales Representative Job DescriptionPosition Summary:The primary function of the Route Sales Representative position is to drive sales growth of Sure Drive USA products through lumberyards, primarily in and around the Bay Area of Northern California. They will be required to be adept in selling into lumber yards, as well as implementing value-added selling techniques at all levels to successfully move Sure Drive USA products through the sales channel. The Route Sales Representative will be a product knowledge expert and is expected to have a deep knowledge of industry and market trends.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Visit our top customers weekly to merchandise in store shelving and write restocking orders that are then sent to the Sure Drive office.Commitment to have the Suredrive brand display be "˜Best in class' on lumber yard shelves.Uses product, industry, and market knowledge to provide a consultative selling experience for the customer.Comfortable driving in and around the Bay Area an estimated 15-20 hours per week depending on traffic.Exhibits superior customer service skills and is willing to do what is necessary to keep our customers happy.Attends and exhibits at customer open houses and contractor events several times per year.Exhibits favorable time management to maximize in-person selling time.Understanding of 80/20 principles and how to maximize coverage of a territory.Learns our ERP system to be able to help enter orders and manage inventory with the assistance of purchasing.Qualifications:High School graduate minimum, college degree a plus.Route sales experience is a bonus.Great communicator and ability to build lasting relationships.Solid driving record and comfortable driving in and around the Bay area.Building Materials or Construction knowledge a plusSelf-motivated and comfortable working independently in a territory.3+ years of experience in sales and account maintenanceMust have a high degree of integrity, pay attention to detail and a commitment to succeed.Knowledge of the building products industry and markets preferred.Working knowledge of Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, and Office.
