BSI Consulting Services is a trusted and agenda-shaping partner providing "˜best practice' technical, regulatory, and business expertise and intelligence for our clients' most critical EHS, Supply Chain, and Digital risks and opportunities to achieve greater resilience, impact, and future-readiness.About the role:The Industrial Hygienist position requires Anticipation, Recognition, Evaluation, Prevention and Control of conditions which could result in illness, impaired health, or significant discomfort in the workplace. The IH will perform assignments independently, but in cooperation and alignment with the established procedures and objectives of the Industrial Hygiene Manager and Team. The individual carries out assignments ranging from simple technician level tasks to moderately complex tasks in any area of the industrial hygiene program. Work is designed to maintain compliance, achieve best practice, and provide continuous improvement in goals and objectives, while expanding the incumbent's training and experience in the various phases of the program. Most assignments are performed within the environment of facilities, laboratories, and/or manufacturing. Consulting Technician/Specialist Responsibilities:Establishment of Exposure Controls/Exposure Elimination for New and Existing MaterialsExposure Based Risk Assessments (Qualitative and Quantitative)Purchase and Maintenance of Media and Industrial Hygiene Sampling Equipment (Calibration/Service)Ability to perform research on equipment function and maintenance requirements as well as other IH related functions.Exposure Sampling Method Determination, Execution, and Verification of the Accuracy and Validity of the Sampling and Analysis ResultsIndependent Execution of the Sampling Plan and Employee Initiated Requests for SamplingBiological Sampling (surface, air, liquids)Chemical Sampling (surface, air, liquids)Noise Assessment and ControlLighting AssessmentIndoor Air Quality AssessmentVentilation and Control System AssessmentReport WritingCommunication of Sampling ResultsCoaching/Training on Exposure Risks and Effective Use of ControlsMaintenance of Legal Documentation for Assessment and Sampling ActivitiesCompletion of Basic Ergonomic AssessmentsEducation/Qualifications:Undergraduate/Graduate degree (BS/MS) in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, or related Industrial Hygiene/Occupational Health discipline.
