With a commitment to ethics first, collaboration, and a positive culture, this will be a great home for an Accounting Manager looking to make the jump to Controller, or a seasoned Controller looking for a new challenge!The successful candidate will manage a range of accounting functions, utilize various accounting software systems, and oversee project accounting, accounts payable and accounts receivable/ billing. This role provides a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.Responsibilities:Work with CFO to develop, monitor, and manage project budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.Track project expenses, including materials, labor, subcontractors, and overhead costs.Conduct regular cost analyses and identify areas for cost optimization and efficiency improvement.Ensure timely and accurate billing, invoicing, and collections.Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.Prepare comprehensive financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.Analyze financial data to provide insights into project performance, variances, and trends.Generate ad hoc financial reports and analyses as required by management.Present financial information to key stakeholders, including senior management and project teams.Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accounting principles, and company policies.Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks.Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory agencies as necessary.Identify potential financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.Collaborate closely with project managers, estimating teams, and accounting staff to align financial goals with project objectives.Provide guidance and support to project teams on financial matters.Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and collaboration within the finance and project management departments.Continuously evaluate and improve financial processes, systems, and procedures.Implement best practices to streamline workflows and enhance efficiency.Drive initiatives to automate repetitive tasks and improve data accuracy and timeliness.Requirements:• Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a Construction Accounting role• Proficiency in Accounting Software, ideally with Sage• Experience working for a general contractor required• Strong GAAP accounting experience, including month end close, financial statement preparation, financial reporting, account analysis and reconciliations.• Experience in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management is required• Experience in Project Accounting is preferred.• Supervisory experience is required
