Your gift of helping people can transform lives.In this role, you will:Organize and participate in recreational activities.Instruct children in health and personal activities.Observe and monitor children's play activities.Organize and store toys and materials to ensure order in activity areasSupport and encourage children's emotional and social development.Read to children, and teach them simple painting, drawing, handicrafts, and songs.Serve beverages and snacks to children and regulate rest periods.Identify signs of emotional or developmental problems in children and brings them to parents' or guardians' attention.We require:Must have childcare experience with infantsMinimum of 1 year of experience in child care services or preschool.Current CPR and First Aid Certificates.Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate activities.Good interpersonal skills to interact with coworkers, children, parents.Computer literacy--proficiency in MS Office Suite & EHR.Experience working with people from diverse racial, ethnic backgrounds.At Samaritan Daytop Village, we empower over 33,000 New Yorkers annually to transform their lives.
