Job Opening: Taproom Manager at Eckhart Beer CompanyAbout Eckhart Beer Company:Eckhart Beer Co. is a new, 8000-square-foot brewery and taproom in Brooklyn, specializing in European- style lagers. With an expected Summer 2024 opening date, Eckhart will bring the best of the European lager beer tradition-from raw ingredients, to brewing process, to hospitality-to the heart of Brooklyn. Eckhart will embrace a "narrow-but-deep" approach to the craft brewing movement, featuring a small range of beers but focusing on perfection, tradition, and authenticity at all levels. Eckhart will have a fully built-out, 100-seat taproom with a full kitchen, and we intend to create a welcoming and convivial space that is a destination for casual beer drinkers and aficionados alike. Who We're Looking For:Eckhart Beer Company is searching for an experienced Taproom Manager to lead all aspects of front-of-house service and management at its new craft brewery and taproom in Brooklyn, NY. The Taproom Manager occupies an essential leadership role in the running of our brewery"”bringing warm, generous, and spirited hospitality to our guests and strong capacities for training, mentorship, and standards-setting to our service team. This is a hands-on, culture-building position that will lead the service team from the start of the shift to closing, deeply involved with running our dining room and cultivating the guest experience.The successful Taproom Manager will have a excellent understanding of our style of service as well as our food and beverage offerings, and will work to uphold our standards every day. We thrive in the company of hospitality professionals who are down to earth, who demonstrate hustle, who lead by example, who are excellent and kind mentors, who have strong aesthetic sensibilities and attention to detail, who can problem-solve on the fly, and who show up to work with positive mental attitudes.Responsibilities:Oversight of all aspects of front-of-house service and operations in Eckhart Beer Company's taproomMaintain and improve service standards and customer experience at all timesManage guest relations and customer development in collaboration with leadership teamWork with ownership to maximize revenue opportunities while retaining top-quality serviceHire, train, manage, and schedule FOH teamOversee performance of department managers and floor and bar staffLead daily restaurant pre-service and floor team preparationsSell, plan and execute on-site events and buyoutsWork closely with kitchen leadership to ensure optimal food service experience for guestsSupport and build team culture through training sessions, service education, and performance reviewsDevelop key performance indicators in collaboration with ownership and track taproom performance against those metricsProvide detailed daily managerial and service reports to ownershipRespond as required to financial performance reports with adjustments staffing, reservations, and other cost centersBuild strong relationships with surrounding community and craft beer affinity groupsImplement company disciplinary measures as appropriate to staff circumstancesOversee all standard HR policy requirements to ensure employee files are up-to-date and compliantAddress all maintenance needs and associated service providers, with an eye to maintaining the performance of the facilityOversee beverage inventory, yield, waste, and restockingAssist in filing of weekly payroll in collaboration with bookkeepercontroller and payroll service Qualifications:5 years experience in an equivalent service or restaurant management rolePrior experience with restaurant andor bar openingsHigh energy, enthusiastic, hands-on, and service-oriented personalityHighly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to multi-taskOutstanding management, mentorship, and training abilitiesBroad knowledge of beer and beverage service operationsExperience managing host and service teamsPassion for providing destination-grade food and beverage experiencesAble to project manage and problem solve with attention to timeliness and meeting deadlinesAbility to work well under pressure and be a calm problem-solver in a fast-paced environmentAbility to stand and work for shifts of 8+ hoursAvailable to work holidays and weekendsAbility to maintain a professional appearance at all timesAbility to communicate clear and concise verbal and written instructionsExperience in oversight of administrative responsibilities, HR implementation, payroll filing, and general maintenance supervisionStrong grasp of contemporary POS and reservation software platformsCurrent NYC DOH Food Handler's certification Compensation:This position will have a base annual salary in the range of $80-100K.
