Job Description

We are seeking a Business Development Senior Manager to join our team, based in our New York office. This is a pivotal role for driving growth and market expansion. The Business Development Senior Manager will be responsible for developing and executing strategic initiatives that strengthen our presence and drive client and business development for the New York office and the wider this capacity, we are looking for a dynamic, proactive and results-oriented professional who can navigate the complexities of the business landscape, identify and pursue business development opportunities, forge strong relationships and support partners and wider teams to success. There is a strong focus on bringing new opportunities for action and execution, including events, speaking engagement, etc., and on tracking progress to drive new business. This is an opportunity for an individual to grow and develop in an exciting and varied role in a fast-moving and innovative firm.The role will report to the Senior Business Development Director and work closely with the wider Marketing & Business Development team, as well as the New York Partners and other immigration and Corporate professionals. Globally, the Marketing and Business Development function is made up of nearly 50 professionals covering the full range of strategic marketing, client & business development and communications to drive revenues, increase firm visibility and promote exceptional client relationships. Identify business growth opportunities with new and existing clients through client targeting, analysis and cross-selling initiativesIdentify external profile-raising opportunities and tactics for promotion and lead generationLead and develop relationships with contacts; effect introductions for partnersteamsWork with other senior colleagues to carry out client listening and feedback exercisesIdentify key organizations and networking groups that represent strong potential for business development; attend meetings and nurture relationshipsDrive client teams and pursuit teams, assisting with research, support, and actions for the Client Care ProgramWork with broader team on effective client acquisition, client focus and client retention strategiesCollaborate with Partners to develop business development plans and align sales tactics with firm's growth objectivesCoach partners and teams on effective BD tactics and work alongside them on BD opportunitiesHelp support the development of pitch, presentation and business review documentsPrepare partners and other client-facing teams for pitch presentations, business reviews and other presentationsTrack and maintain live opportunities in our CRM systemStrategize with the events team to identify key clients and targets for virtual and in-person events and help ensure successful events and follow-upCollaborate closely with the CommsPRsocial media team to drive and support profile-raising and visibilityBuild strong relationships with key stakeholders across the region and the wider firmMonitor industry, client and competitor news and information, including key contactsCoordinate actions with the Marketing & Business Development team to strengthen the brandWork with colleagues across the region to identify and promote opportunities for continuous improvementProvide additional support to the broader Marketing and Business Development department, as neededLeverage your valuable skills and experience to make an impact at Fragomen:Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Communications or related field10+ years of experience in a business environment, preferably with a background from legal or professional services industry in a business development roleKnowledge of the New York marketExcellent written and oral English communication skills, including strong writing and editing skills for drafting concise and polished communications to senior level stakeholders. Additional languages are desirable, but not essential.Detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated, resourceful, with excellent grammatical and proofreading skills and a high attention to detailProven record of dealing with and influencing senior stakeholders, poise and professionalism when interacting with internal and external contactsAn entrepreneurial mindsetCan-do and proactive attitudeStrong computer skills, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of Salesforce, InterAction or another CRM preferredKnowledge of immigration and global mobility space a plusAbility to prioritize workload and pivot, as necessary, in an environment with shifting priorities and deadlinesAbility to work independently and as part of a broader collaborative teamBenefits:At Fragomen, we know that great people make a great organization. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top end of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the factors noted.A reasonable and good-faith estimate of the current salary range for individuals able to work a hybrid schedule in the office locally is: $160,000 - $180,000
