Our Client is an exciting, new start-up company and they are part of a global organization within the Oil & Gas sector. They will provide Technical Engineering resources and support Green Energy development and deployment and support their parent company with the provision of Green Energy Solutions. This is a fantastic opportunity for a SeniorPrincipal Instrumentation & Controls Engineer who will be based at their corporate Head Office in Houston (hybrid model).Basic Functions and Responsibilities:Acts as internal consultant to engineers and technical staff.Applies sound and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices and carries out assignments which require the exercise of judgement and independent evaluation.Assigned as area lead in a project or as a lead engineer in a smaller projectAssigns all engineering work including checking of calculations; reviews engineering sketches.Assigns engineer to review drawings.Checks drawings for conformity with design requirements. Stamps drawings as required.Continually upgrades technical knowledge and capabilities.Coordinates with other departments.Develops standard specifications and design standards.Ensures that drawing check is performed.Functions as Lead Engineer on Major ProjectsKeeps Department Chief informed of any changes in staffing requirements.Maintains a copy of the relevant sections of the project estimate and generates change notices.Makes independent decisions and recommendations on engineering problems and methods that are recognized as authoritative and have an important impact on engineering activities.Negotiates critical and controversial issues with top level engineers and officers of other organizations and anizes work to comply with project requirements.Plans the work of engineers in programs of critical importance to the Company.Prepares and updates the Discipline Design Basis for a project.Prepares material requisitions and technical input to subcontract packages.Provides overall supervision.Recognized leader and authority in the company in a broad area of specialization or in a narrow but intensely specialized field.Reviews and helps update drawing schedule. Makes man-hour forecasts.Reviews other disciplines and vendor print intersquad drawings.Saves original calculations for DepartmentProject files.Uses advanced techniques and the modification and extension of theories, precepts and practices to solve problems.Works with business development personnel on client proposals.Education:BS in EngineeringPE preferredRequired Skills and Experience:Typically 15+ years experience, 13+ with a Master's degreeSPIINtools proficientMinimum 5 yrs Lead Engineer or Control Systems Lead Engineer in the Oil & Gas, petrochemical, chemical, refining industry on major projects.Need good, rounded experience across controls - some field device as well as systems (Logic, DCSPLC) knowledge.Specifying and procurement of offline and inline InstrumentationAnalyzers systems.Solid knowledge of ISA, API, API-14C, IEC standards.Experience with complete engineering, design, specification, procurement and testing of DCSSISFire and Gas systems.Experience supervising, coordinating and checking execution of engineering scope of work by subcontractor or High Value Center.Lead experience of major projectsExperience in revamps a plus
