Private investment firm is currently accepting applications for a Private Equity Analyst Intern (Summer 2024). This position is designed to be a full-time internship program during the the summer of 2024 with the potential to extend into fall semester. ABOUT THE FIRMSkyharbor Capital is a private investment firm financially backed by several family offices and successful industry executives. We specialize in acquiring established (B2B or B2B2C) companies that provide "information-based" or "tech-enabled" business services. Our strategy is to identify and acquire legacy B2B services companies and then transform them into highly scalable technology-enabled businesses. This includes converting non-technology service-based businesses into technology-driven companies andor converting legacy software companies into SaaS companies.  ABOUT THE INTERNSHIPAs a Private Equity Analyst Intern, you will work directly with our Investment Partners and be responsible for assisting our team with matters relating to origination, evaluation, and financial analysis of potential M&A opportunities. Additionally, you will assist with all matters relating to research and analysis within specific industries of interest. Your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Preliminary evaluation of acquisition opportunities based on a set of proprietary investment criteriaReviewing and analyzing NDAs, pitchbooks, business plans, and financial statementsConducting research and due diligence on specific acquisition targets, industry verticals and nichesIdentifying primary and secondary sources of information for industry statistics, trends, growth rates and M&A activityAnalyzing industry data and building frameworks for comparing and contrasting attributes and qualities of industries for investment thesis developmentBuilding and maintaining lists of potential acquisition targets and active buyers bankers in the industryCompiling historical financial information, developing forward-looking projections, and building valuation models (DCF, LBO, comps, etc.)Presenting your work to senior deal professionals on a regular basis. Projects are not hypothetical exercises; your assignments will involve information based on real transactions. SCHEDULE & TIME REQUIREMENTSYou will have the option to work remotely for the duration of the internship. Internships will require a minimum commitment of 40 hours per week for 12 weeks. We provide flexibility for school, personal, travel and exam schedules. BENEFITSInternships are non-paid. As an Analyst Intern, you will be rewarded with mentorship opportunities with the Managing Partner, credible M&A experience, networking with investment bankers, school credit, letters of recommendations, and support for future business school applications.   QUALIFICATIONSSuccessful candidates will be self-starters with a sharp analytical toolkit, excellent communication skills, superior attention to detail, creative research ability and a curiosity to learn. Candidates must be in their junior or senior year and have completed coursework in financial accounting and corporate finance while maintaining at least a 3.75 GPA.  Successful candidates will have completed coursework (or other types of online courses) involving complex Microsoft Excel modeling, valuation theory and prior internship or work experience. APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONSPlease submit your resume with a written cover letter including the following: (1) Why you are seeking an internship in the M&A industry?
