Our non-profit client is hiring a Chief Financial Officer to provide senior leadership for finance, accounting, budget, risk, and purchasing. You will report directly to the CEO And will be based in South San Francisco, CA. The ideal candidate is mission driven and dedicated to positively influencing the lives of children throughout California. The ultimate reward lies in the tangible impact your efforts will have on the well-being of youth and families.ResponsibilitiesProvide visionary leadership for the operations of the Finance and Accounting Department and provide overall fiscal supervision for the agency.Oversee the annual budget and planning process, monitor progress and changes, and inform senior leadership of agency's financial status.Manage cash flow and forecasting; ensure contract billing and collection schedule is adhered to and financial data and cash flow support operational requirements.Oversee the management of cash receipts, tangible assets, disbursements, federal grant reimbursement requests, and the billing of grants.Ensure annual financial statement audits, tax returns, reports, and statements and adherence to all regulatory and compliance requirements.Ensure accounting and financial management systems are optimized to promote efficiency, accuracy, compliance, reporting and analytics.Maintain and develop accounting and financial management policies, procedures and practices while ensuring that internal control policies remain effective.Maintain, monitor and enhance risk management standards for the protection, maintenance, and improvement of agency assets; work with insurance providers in pursuit of cost-effective solutions for legal and professional liability.Lead and drive a high performing team and learning culture.Attend Board and Financial Committee meetings as an agency representative; provide presentations and financial updates.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA andor CPA preferred.Minimum: 5 years of recent successful experience in a responsible financial leadership role.Minimum: 5 years of fund accounting experience, with 8 years of progressive Accountingfinance experience prehensive knowledge of and demonstrated ability to apply generally accepted accounting principles.Familiarity with accountingreporting practices for non-profit or public administration in California.Experience with the configuration, implementation and optimization of automated accounting and financial management systems and software.Knowledge and successful application of Lean and Six Sigma principles andor continuous improvement methodologies.Demonstrated ability to provide strong leadership to build consensus among diverse groups and instill confidence in subordinates in the face of organizational change.Must meet all state required conditions of employment as set forth by funder and regulatory body including fingerprint and child abuse index clearance, TBhealth physical exam, a valid California driver's license, and a clean driving record.Salary$200,000-$250,000BenefitsCompany paid medical and dental insurance; Low cost vision insurance.401a and 403(b) retirement savings program and company match.Paid Vacation, Paid Birthday, and 10 Paid Holidays.Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Health Savings Account (HSA).Commuter Benefits and Free Parking.
