As a multi-unit establishment, Potbelly's offers an unparalleled experience with its different locations, food truck, and laid back atmosphere. We are seeking a dedicated Catering Sales Coordinator to lead our team and drive the success of our multiple locations. Currently, we have 2 stand alone locations plus a food truck with approximatley 50 employees. We have committed to 6 shop locations in Central Illinois and additional stores in Metro-East near St. Louis, MO.General DescriptionThe Catering Coordinator manages and organizes the backline business, driving sales through building relationships with local businesses, current customers and BIG FISH. Leads in sales efforts, planning, organizing and coordinating all aspects of daily Catering and Backline orders. Aggressively canvasses Neighborhood to identify new business while maintaining existing business. Leads daily sales efforts to increase revenue for Catering and Back-Line orders. This position will be responsible for building a local marketing plan for each store and expected to deliver results. This position will be responsible for identifying catering opportunities and expected to drive daily catering sales. For example, a goal would be approximatley $2,000 to $3,000 per day per store during the week.FOCUSResponsibilitiesIn addition to following standard Potbelly operating policies and procedure, accountabilities include:PeopleWorks directly with General Manager (GM) to determine sales road map and sales goals with guidance of Catering Sales TeamSupervises backline operations to ensure all associates are POP compliantEnsures all backline orders are complete and catering checklistorder verification forms are utilizedCollaborates with GM to discuss daily, weekly, monthly sales goals and sales opportunitiesActs as a mentortrainer for associates training on backline operations, ATO, and sales effectivenessAssignsdeploys and coordinates delivery drivers for each orderCoordinates associates to assist in backline peak dutiesCustomersSends "Thank You" notes and performs daily call backscall aheads on all catering ordersHandles and resolves customer complaintsaccolades by using the three A'sEnsures catering collateral is displayed and stocked in the shop at all timesOwns the delivery trade area for the shop and actively follows itManages capacity for backline based on staffing while maintaining food quality standards and order accuracyManages all house accounts including database of ATO and paymentsWorks weekly with DM to discuss sales successes and to update Sales goalsSalesStrives to meetachieve sales goalstargets; communicate results daily with GMActively participates in targeted canvassing, account maintenance calls, and correspondence with customers to drive backline salesResponds in a timely manner to Customer Catering quotes via emailFamiliar with current PTD backline sales and records dailyMonitors backline sales trends vs. current year and prior yearCommunicates backline sales trends and results to team in weekly manager meetingConsistently updates the Big Fish tracker to track orders and generate sales leadsProfitAsks for the business-ensures we are actively pursuing all opportunities to drive cateringbackline salesEnsures all catering "sides" and utensils are provided using the Catering Condiment Wheel as a tool to determine amount of product to supplyVerifies all backline orders are 100% accurate before being delivered to the customerMonitorsListens that all associates answering phones and taking orders are suggestive selling extras and sides AccountabilityKey Leadership Traits for this role: o Knows how and successfully grows our salesbusiness profitablyHas Excellent communication skills including active listening and the ability to ask great questionsHas the initiative to solve problems and to get things done correctly and on timeHas humility and self confidencePossesses an extremely strong work ethicOther Job ResponsibilitiesOther Associate position duties when assigned as outlined in Potbelly Associate job description, such as preparing quality finished products at various stations, complying with health and food safety standards, restocking items, cleaning, operating the cash register, answering the phone, providing great customer service, and following Potbelly policies and proceduresOther duties as assigned
