BGSF is seeking a direct hire Trademark Paralegal for our reputable legal client located in the DT area of Chicago!Direct hireTo $90K DOE + annual bonusMonday - Friday, 900am - 500pmHybrid - 2 days per week work from home, Wednesdays required onsiteTrademark paralegal experience required - filing and preparing trademark paperwork, using the USPTO, and researching competitive trademarks; 4-year degree strongly preferredReputable firm with great benefitsThe primary responsibility of this role is to handle trademark and copyright documents from USPTO and foreign associates.Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssist with the preparation of pleadings and discovery in federal and state court civil matters and arbitration proceedingsReview daily docket report for actions due; provide reminders to responsible attorneys before due date with consideration for sufficient response time; and confirm actions taken, updating records accordinglySend reminders regarding upcoming actions due to clients and foreign associatesPerform routine status inquiries, updating records accordinglyReview and process all incoming mail from USPTOCO and foreign associates, and forward to responsible attorney or prepare form letters to clientsforeign associates for attorney reviewsignature and send to clientsforeign associatesPrepare and timely file application, maintenance and renewal documents re: US trademarks, copyrights, domain namesCorrespond with foreign associates re application, maintenance and renewal of trademarksConduct preliminary online searches for potential trademarks and report findings to responsible attorney; order comprehensive search reports, summarize findings and forward summary reports to responsible attorneyGenerate cost estimate reports for filing of foreign applications and forward to responsible attorneyPrepare status reports for attorneys and clients and client activity summaries upon requestMiscellaneous attorney requests (research, reports, contacting IPO offices, etc.)Process invoicesHighly Desired1+ years trademark paralegal experience, i.e. filing and preparing trademark paperwork, using the USPTO, and researching competitive trademarksKnowledge of domestic and international USPTO trademark practice and procedures including Madrid Protocol and Community Trademark4-year degree strongly preferred
