Responsibilities: Fabricating parts with CNC mills, CNC lathes, CNC routers, manual machine equipment, lasers, 3D Printers and waterjetsCapable of producing parts with -- in some cases ±0.020mm or tighter -- critical tolerancesRead schematics, diagrams, and technical drawings to determine methods of manufacturing and assembly Recognize the need and develop, design and build appropriate tooling and fixturesGather and prepare tools and materials required to complete projectsCapable of managing multiple concurrent projects on tight timelinesMaintain machine shop and fabrication equipmentProactively maintain supplies of hardware components, equipment, etc. to Google's expectations. Highlight all potential shortages and proactively work to ensure minimal interruptionAssembly of precision electromechanical systems including tight tolerance mechanical assembliesAlign, fit, and assemble component parts, using hand tools, power tools, fixtures and appropriate shop toolsCover all aspects of a project's requirements from conceptual design, 3D CAD, drafting, fabrication to assemblyHave a firm understanding of a variety of materials and their properties. Utilize this knowledge to make informed decisions on materials to use for components.
