Job Description

Our small agency client recently opened their U.S. office and is looking for a DIRECTOR to serve as a leader in the agency both on the client side as the main point of contact and internally on the operations side (i.e. serving as a mentor and manager to the growing team, partnering with the CEO on new business and budget management, assisting with staffing and recruiting, and implementing processes to ensure a cohesive and efficient office). As one of key people in the US there is a lot of opportunity for growth, and the ability to make a tangible impact on the agency. Specifically, this role would have a seat at the table from day one, including input on hiring decisions, strategic direction, leadership and would work closely with the company's executives.DIRECTOR RESPONSIBILITIES (60% account work : 40% operationsleadershipbusiness development)Responsible for strategic direction and day-to-day execution of multi-pronged communications plans for B2B established blue chip and early-stage startup clients across various corporate industries (such as technology, finance, energy, education, etc.).Serve as main point of client for designated accounts.Play a key role in securing new business through your own relationships and in partnership with the wider team.Directly manage 3+ employees, providing mentorship, guidance, and oversight.Partner with the agency'sUK office counterpart to share key learnings and best practices.Build and maintain relationships with top-tier media and secure placements, including executive thought leadership, brand features, profiles, podcasts and more.Contribute to new business development efforts, including proposals, pitches, and presentations.Support executive leadership on operational issues for the New York office i.e financial management, recruitment, staffing and office management where needed.DIRECTOR REQUIREMENTS8 - 10 years of B2B corporate communications and PR experience. Strong account and client management experience at a communicationsPR agency.B2B "generalist" that has worked across various industries in the B2B space is preferred.Proven track record of creating and executing national PR campaigns.Experience managing office operations, such as budgets, implementing streamlining processes, supporting new business, etc.Direct management of 3+ employees.Established relationships with reporters at top-tier media outlets.Hands-on leader that jumps in to help with whatever account work the team needs support on. Excited to join a growing agency that operates in start-up mode.Must be able to come into the NYC office two days every week. *This is a hybrid role with all employees required to be in the NYC office two days a week.
