Job Description

The Quality Assurance Specialist for Food Safety is responsible for supporting the Quality Assurance Specialist Lead with maintaining the required Certification as an SQF Practitioner, Food Security/Food Defense and Food Safety Plans, and HACCP/HARPC plans. Assist in coordinating Quality Assurance and related programs to ensure Product Quality and Food Safety. Monitor compliance with cGMP and Food Safety programs by ensuring that the processes, systems, and procedures are in place.If your skills, experience, and qualifications match those in this job overview, do not delay your application.Key ResponsibilitiesCompliance: Assure that manufacturing locations comply with Innophos-approved QA & Regulatory StandardsEnsure compliance with the applicable quality standards, SQF, safety dietary supplement standards, regulatory cGMP dietary standards FDA CFR 111, and food standards FDA CFR 117 through quality system reviewsPerforms and or coordinates internal audits to ensure that Quality & Regulatory standards are being adhered toCollaborate with Manufacturing/Quality Control to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and safety standards (FDA, etc.)Keeps the system current with all related quality legislation and compliance issuesManage customer complaint investigationsSupport and assist investigation of non conformances to determine Root Cause, Corrective and Preventive Actions as assignedConduct record reviews and raw material and product releases as neededPerforms final disposition and release of products after reviewActively participate in safety initiatives, including but not limited to emergency response plansProactively mitigate accidents and eliminate unsafe conditions and report near-miss incidentsMaintain office area in acceptable and safe conditionOther duties as assignedExternal audits: Assure the success of Customer's and Third-party auditsSupport internal and external audits/inspections/customer visitsSupport CAPA and implementation of audits gapsPerformance: QA Continuous improvementTrack key quality metrics, such as product quality, customer complaints, non-conforming products, etc., through a structured approachInterface with vendors on quality-related issues as needed, in collaboration with the Corporate Supplier Quality Manager in charge of the Material/Suppliers programMonitor and develop Quality Systems that continue to meet emerging industry trendsCreate processes to expedite our response times to customers with quality issuesManage quality documentation including but not limited to standard operating procedures (SOPs), associated forms, work instructions, logs, quality trainingRequired Education And ExperienceBachelor's degree in Food or Life science; advanced degree preferredMinimum of 3-5 years of experience in Quality or Continuous Improvement disciplines within manufacturingRequired Knowledge, Skills And AbilitiesExperience in the Food, Dietary Supplement, or pharmaceutical industries with advanced quality systemsStrong influence and partnership skillsFSMA/ PCQI certified is a plusRoot cause analysisSQF is a plusExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExpertise in Risk Management and Project ManagementGMP, HACCP, HARPC (PCQI Individual), 21 CFR 11, 110, 111, 117, NSF 173 and 306Microsoft OfficeQuality Assurance ManagementProduction Food Defense/Security, Food SafetySanitation, Pest Control, Inventory Control, CAPA 5S/LEAN ManufacturingEnvironmental and/or Physical RequirementsThis job requires both in-plant work and office workPlant conditions include high and low temperatures, areas where respirators or dust masks are required, and noisy conditionsAbility to work on feet, cherry picker/boom liftsWalk, sit, stand, squat, reach, lift up to 50 lbsWork is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment availableAbout InnophosInnophos is a leading international producer of specialty ingredient solutions that deliver far-reaching, versatile benefits for the food, health, nutrition and industrial markets.
