Our client in Petaluma, CA is looking for a Project Manager.If you would like to know a bit more about this opportunity, or are considering applying, then please read the following job information.This onsite position in Petaluma specializes in concrete, grading, paving, underground utilities, site work, and emergency service and repair and has been the trusted construction partner serving North Bay municipalities, public works agencies, private enterprises, and commercial developers. The company has been in the business for 16 years and completed over 1200 projects in that span.The Project Manager will be responsible for planning and delivering construction projects on time and within budget through effective logistics organization and delegation of work. This position has the autonomy to oversee all aspects of the project, including managing cost codes, providing weekly schedules to clients, and conducting field visits.DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:Within the first 30 days and ongoing:● Partners with experienced Project Managers, the Lead Estimator, or GM to gain an understanding of the company's systems and culture.● Gains exposure to construction sites through site visits to better understand the application of scheduling and budgeting.● Begins to attend and observe weekly production meetings and learns the process to collaborate with superintendents on job costing, budget modifications, and resolving project issues as they arise.3 months and ongoing:● Owns 2-5 projects based on size and scope of work with minimal supervision, and asks thoughtful questions as needed.● Is independent in creating and presenting RFIs, submittals and changes to the scope of work to all appropriate parties.● Owns scheduling and budgeting responsibilities with minimal support from experienced team members and brings possible solutions for areas of uncertainty to get approval from leadership.6 - 12 months and ongoing:● Provides well-researched recommendations to improve processes and expand the skills of the field staff and project management team.● Is independent in generating change orders from inception to execution and confident in the pricing of a project without supervision from GM.● Takes on a larger scope of responsibility and independently manages 3-6 projects at a time based on size and complexity.● Continues to build rapport and lead coordination of efforts across the entire project between architects, designers, engineers, and subcontractors.REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: 5+ years' experience in civil engineering construction and project management required Bachelor's degree preferred in construction management, or civil engineering a plus Proven ability to read and comprehend blueprints, project drawings, plans, and specifications required Proven experience with contract and subcontract documents, terms, and conditions required Advanced skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, Teams) required; preconstruction software (Building Connected) and construction project management software (Heavy Job) is highly preferred. The company is presently using Sage100.
