General Position SummaryThe Quality Engineer assists and supports the Quality Manager on assigned projects. He/she supervises the project quality inspection functions and activities in conformance with the company's Quality Program.While professional experience and qualifications are key for this role, make sure to check you have the preferable soft skills before applying if required.Major Duties & ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the strict adherence to company safety policies and programs through the communication and enforcement of the Skanska Safety and Health Management Program including the ability to independently stop work for a safety violation or suspected safety violationPerform primary quality assurance/quality control inspections required in conformance with the project contract drawings and specificationsPerform quality oversight on subcontractorsAttend all jobsite and prepare documentation for Quality MeetingsImplement company quality control (assurance) program manualDocument all inspections, tests, daily reports, quality records and material procurement traceabilityInspect equipment and workmanship for complianceWork closely with the Owner's field representatives & inspectors on quality related mattersDevelop and implement corrective measures in cases of noncomplianceThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employees assigned to this position. Field work requires experience and confidence working in and around heavy industrial equipment, systems and conditions is required. Activities and responsibilities require frequent sitting (often working on a computer), frequent driving, flying, walking, standing, light lifting, bending, and reaching.
