The group develops, evaluates, and executes plans for new businesses and growth initiatives and leads strategic transactions, including joint ventures, acquisitions, and dispositions, on behalf of the firm.RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONSThe newly created role of Technology Strategy Expert will be a highly visible member of a small, dynamic team. The individual will work closely with the firm's Technology Division leadership and play a key part in setting the firm's technology strategy across its businesses. The individual will also help to lead various execution projects, including the implementation of technology-related strategic initiatives and transactions. Assignments will provide exposure to the breadth of activities at a major international financial firm with multiple business lines, including its opportunities and challenges, and frequent interaction with senior divisional and firm leadership. The role provides an opportunity to gain the operational perspective of a principal while also serving as a trusted strategic and financial advisor to key internal clients. The Firmwide Strategy group has proven to be a gateway to a number of attractive career paths. Past team members have been promoted to senior leadership positions within the group as well as transitioned to investing and management positions inside our firm and elsewhere, corporate strategy roles within various industries, and to traditional investment banking. Representative Projects / Transactions:Annual strategy review presentation to Board of DirectorsHelped develop Firm strategy and various business plansSales of different business linesAcquisitions of major corporationsDesired Experience / Skills:Passion for using technology to transform businessesStrong knowledge of or interest in learning about the financial services industryAbility to review and synthesize information and form independent judgmentsStrong analytical, quantitative, and technical abilities. While the role does not require coding, we expect that the suitable candidate has a computer science degree and could dive into a codebase when needed. We expect that this candidate knows the pros and cons and nuisances of various technologies and programming languages.
