Job Summary Sam Schwartz, a TYLin Company, is seeking an early career Traffic Engineer to join our Chicago-based Traffic Engineering Team. Responsibilities & Qualifications Responsibilities & Qualifications The selected individual will perform various traffic engineering and transportation planning tasks including: * Conduct site visits, field observations, and data collection * Perform traffic, pedestrian, parking, and safety analyses * Use traffic analysis software and innovative data analytics tools * Develop CAD-based design drawings of signs, markings, and signal controls * Conduct reviews of transportation plans and drawings for operational effectiveness * Prepare high-quality graphics, data visualizations, and reports * Attend internal and external project meetings Qualifications The candidate must be organized, able to work both collaboratively and independently, manage priorities, think creatively, and meet the following minimum qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in civil or transportation engineering * Skilled user of Excel * Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Adobe Illustrator preferred * Experience in traffic analysis software including HCS, Synchro/SimTraffic, and/or VISSIM preferred * EIT certification preferred * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Ability to commute to the office at least three days per week * Authorized to work in the US Interested candidates that meet the minimum qualifications should attach a cover letter and resume to their application.
